Mines of Bruoux
The village of Gargas offers a unique and complete panorama of the ochre exploitation, from the start to our days. Its mines were exploited from the 19th century. They still hold the last active carry of Europe. One of the old mines, the mine of Bruoux, can be visited and offers a trail of 650 metres along some impressive vaulted galleries of 5 to 12 metres high.
In july and august, you can enjoy watching theatre shows in a fantastic scenery.
