Fort of Buoux
The history of Buoux goes back to prehistory. In the caves of the rocks around the town, man settled 50.000 years before our era and even before the Romans installed here. In the Middle-Ages, a fort was built on the remainders of the town, before it was rebuilt on its current location. Today, the perched fort can still be admired. It is a true citadel built between the steep cliffs. In Buoux, the 18th century church is definitely worth a visit as it houses a paleo-Christian altar of the 5th century.
