From far you can see the bell tower of Bonnieux, perched on a hill that dominates the Lubéron from 425 metres high. Built in terraces against the cliff, the town holds lovely terra cotta houses and stunning mansions of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. They unveil a wealthy past of when the popes were living in Avignon. After climbing the 86 steps that lead to the old church of the town, you’ll discover an amazing panorama on the mounts of Vaucluse, Gordes and Roussillon.
In spring, when the lavender is blossoming, this panorama offers shades of blue and green.
